What do people think about the situation where a BA worker has been suspended without pay for visibly wearing a small Cross necklace?

Good question Eric.

I have to say I am sort of on the fence on this one. I think if it is a clear case of discrimination against Christians then BA need to be fought against.

But I sort of see their point that she isn't being stopped from wearing the cross, just asking that it isn't worn over the uniform, which is true of any item of jewellery.

But I do think there is a case to answer which says that as a Christian she should be able to clearly identify herself as such alongside her muslim, etc, co-workers who are clearly identifying their faith through their attire.

I started on the fence until I saw how BT were handling it. they really shot themselves in the face because it was just a debate about jewellry to start with but then they went and said that the hijab etc was different. that's when i was like... hang on, your making ths a religious issue now and that argument re you can't hide a turban etc is flawed. If they had just stuck to the jewelrry issue then I would have let it be but as it is good old arch bish etc put enough pressure on them to sort it out.

On a tangent... I'm sure that the gov is getting sick of Rowan... I bet they thought he'd not be the interfering type but he's used his position in quite a number of cases now and spoken out about stuff I agree with. Am midly suprised and impressed!
