Pathfinders.
Pathfinders is a social night for anyone in school years 7 to 10 (age 11 to 16). We meet every Friday from 7pm to 8:30 in Church
House (that's the large community building
opposite the church inside the church grounds on Schofield Street) and average cost of subs is £1. Times
and costs can vary as we sometimes have special trips out - see below for
the kind of trips and activities.
Pathfinders is run by Christian adult leaders, but you
don't have to be a Christian or involved in any church to enjoy coming
along. You can be part of Pathfinders no matter what you believe; you will be
treated with respect and care no matter what your beliefs are. Pathfinders is
supported by Christ Church Pennington and The Sports Village Church, and all the leaders have CRB clearance to
work safely with young people.
Some
of the kinds of trips we go out to on Fridays are: Roller Skating,
Rampworks skate park, Bowling, Ice
Skating, Laser Quest, Climbing Wall, Curry at Rusholme, Night Hike, Swimming at
Stoke Waterworld and a trip to Blackpool lights. Sometimes we go to Christian gigs in Manchester where
we get to learn more about God from top DJs and bands such as LZ7, Blush, and
Andy Hawthorne. We also have fun nights in at Church House where we watch
films, make Pizzas, we
have Girls Only/Boys Only activity
nights, Murder
Mystery nights, make animated films, Quiz nights, Talent nights, Make Music on a PC,
Bingo, Junk Fashion shows, Torch Tig, or just
a chill evening where you can listen to music, play pool
or table football, battle on the PS2 or just chat to your mates
with a nice Hot Chocolate or a Latte.
We also take a group away to the lake district on a residential trips.
Parents or guardians need to fill in a simple form to allow the child/ward to be part of Pathfinders. These are available from any of the leaders on a Friday night. Hope to See you soon.
