Welcome to Pennington Church! We are a lively anglican evangelical
church in Leigh, Lancashire. We hope through this site and through
meeting the people who make up this church, that you will find a new or

Whizz Kids
Whizz Kids is a Tuesday night club for kids in school year 4 to 6. We meet
from 7pm to 8:30pm in Church House (that's the large community building opposite the
church inside church grounds on Schofield Street) and cost of subs is 50p per week.
Your first time
at Whizz Kids is free!
Whizz
Kids is run by Christian adult leaders, but you don't have to be a Christian or
involved in any church to enjoy coming along. Many children come because of
our links with the local school. You can be part of Whizz Kids no matter what you
believe; our teaching is clearly from the Bible but the children and their
questions or opinions are always treated with respect and care. Parents are
welcome to stay for the sessions. Whizz
Kids is supported by Christ Church Pennington and
CCP Primary School, and all the leaders have CRB clearance to work safely with
children.
We start with a time
all together finding out what activities
are on offer for the evening so the kids can choose what they would like to do.
Most evenings include 3 or 4 choices from the following: Craft activities, Football, Dance mats, Sing Star
karaoke, X Box gaming, PS2 challenge, Pool, Table Football, learning
to DJ or MC, Gymnastics. Then it's
all off to have fun at whatever takes your fancy,
under the supervision of leaders in each of the activities. We all gather back together around 8pm for a drink and
some tuck whilst we listen to a short
talk from the Bible, then maybe a game
of the Whizz Kids favourite "Torch Tig" to
finish the night off!
Parents or guardians need to fill in a simple form to
allow their children to be part of Whizz Kids. These are available from any of
the leaders on a Tuesday night. Hope to see you
